Overview

Shards is designed to be layered on top of existing game team/guild structures thereby enabling easy integration of the social economy. By generalizing the in-game competitive elements present in multiplayer games, Shards amplifies social competitiveness through creating a sense of ownership and belonging. This friendly competition drives even more engagement with the gaming platform as a whole. In effect, Shards conveniently transforms Teams into a revenue generating entity.

The sections below detail the various components that enable the bridging of value between Players and Non-Players. This value transfer occurs over predefined revenue distribution flows which are implemented and automated via different layers of the Web3 stack.
