Fractions are bought and sold via an AMM bonding curve whereby the price of the next Fraction is determined by the total supply of all Fractions. More information can be found in the Fraction Bonding Curve AMM component.
The bulk of the Fraction sale proceeds are allocated to the Fraction Owner. While the price of a Fraction is determined by the specific bonding curve, Fraction Owners can generally expect the value of their Fraction to rise in accordance with Shards adoption. This means that there is no cap on the number of Fraction Owners and every additional Fraction purchased results in a higher price for the next Fraction exchanged.
Critically, as part of the Fractions sale proceeds are distributed to the wider ecosystem, Fraction Owners face little incentive to flip Fractions but instead focus on growing the number of Fraction Owners. Moreover, every Fraction transaction also contributes towards the revenues of their preferred Team.
